Emerging Stronger
These artworks are part of a series of six digital animated pieces created in real time. Sumi also composed original music for them. These artworks were commissioned by Fortune MPW for their 2021 “Emerge Stronger” event.

INSPIRATION
Just as life gestates in the egg, it initiates and withdraws into the darkness of a deep hole to incubate until a healing dream or action release the reborn into the world. The brooder and brooded become one as an energy of crystallization. Alchemy depicted the germ spot of an egg contained in the yolk as the sunspot or “sun-point” (the infinitesimally small invisible dot from which all being has its origin). It is also the creative point within ourselves, the soul in the midpoint of the heart. The quintessence or golden germ that is set in motion by the warmth of our devoted spiraling attention….. to EMERGE STRONGER.
Mental Health
Stimulated by the eruption of contents over which we have no control, we need to look into our inner world and work to realize the self. We need to become familiar with the self in order to regulate the center of our inner world to emerge into wholeness. To be whole brings forth balance and harmony, connecting us with Mother Nature. The fish symbolize us swimming in different directions, one toward the inner self and the other towards matter.
Diversity and Inclusion
By realizing the self and becoming whole, we are challenged with conflicts and perfection that ultimately show us to value differences, to accept others with different backgrounds and experiences in order to be more innovative.
Community and Collaboration
The trees depict the nature of intense inner life and development that follow their own laws and can reveal the “evergreen” within the individual. This “evergreen,” or wholeness of the self, brings forth values and harmony that allow us to share, supporting and acceptance of different backgrounds and experiences.
Sustainability
By understanding ourself, there will be harmony between the environment, humans, economy and sociality, energized with strong values.
Innovation
Wholeness creates swirls of energized growth and leads to a dynamic understanding of the self-expanding and effective implementation of the new.
Leaders
Spiraling toward becoming whole, one aims not to overcome personal psychology or become perfect, but to become familiar with the self and realize one's vision, putting nature and people first.
